At least 17 people have been killed, on Thursday 10/08/2009 morning, and more than 80 injured in a large explosion between the Indian embassy and the interior ministry in the Afghan capital, Kabul (see also – Kabul 08.18.09 ). An Indian embassy official said a part of a security wall had been damaged.
Nirupama Rao, India’s foreign secretary told reporters, he believed “the suicide bomb was directed against the Indian embassy”.
