BOMB HITS SHEIKS OPPOSING AL QAEDA
On 11/14/2007 2 people were killed and six were wounded south of Baghdad in Iskandariya.
A suicide bomber struck the house of Sheik Imad al-Kardani in Iskandariya, and a car bomb then exploded outside the house, while sheiks’ opposing Al Qaeda meeting was being held. The al-Kardani tribe is part of the “Iskandariya Awakening Council”, another Sunnite militia that switched sides in the last year from insurgency against US le coalition in Iraq to fight Al Qaeda as an ally to USA.
On 11/09/2007 another USA ally, sheikh Faez al-Obeidi was killed by a suicide bomber, killing him and four of his relatives, in the town of Khalis, Diyala province.
