Londoner Clive  Dennis, 45, was arrested in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu, on Wednesday 03/28/2012, accused of plotting to join militants. Government spokesman Abdirahman Omar Osman Yarisow said Jamaican-born Dennis claimed he jetted in to the war-torn nation “to help Islam” (see also – Somali U.K Radicals ).

Somali director of immigration Abdullahi Gafow Mohamud told the Iranian broadcast network Press TV that Dennis was held at the airport over a visa offence and told officials he hoped to live in the port town of Kismayo .Clive  Dennis claimed that he came from London via Nairobi and he was heading to Kismayo.’ Somalia Report added that the British citizen was allegedly caught in possession of drugs and a variety of knives.

Terror cops in UK are probing links between a British Al Qaeda suspect held in Somalia and the fugitive widow of 7/7 suicide bomber Germaine Lindsay.

Mum-of-three Samantha Lewthwaite, 28 — whose husband Jermain Lindsay blew himself up in the 2005 London 7/7 atrocities — is thought to be hiding in East Africa too. She is suspected of travelling to neighbouring Kenya last year from her home in Aylesbury, Bucks, to help fund terrorism. She is linked to Jermaine Grant, 29, from East London who was arrested in Mombasa last December (see – Mombasa 01/2012 Plot ).

Dozens of radicalised Muslim Brits are feared to have joined al-Shabab, Al Qaeda’s terror cell in the region. Yesterday a Somali group in the UK said al-Shabab was helping sell a drug called khat and then trying to recruit youngsters who became addicted.
