TURKEY DOWNED A RUSSIAN FIGHTER JET

1RussiangetJust two days ago, on 11/22/2015.  it seemed as rival nations with conflicting interests are coming together to form a “Grand coalition’ as French President Francois HOllande described it after the Paris Terror Carnage of Friday 11/23/2015, to fight I.S.I.S .

It was quite clear that Western Europe is in bitter conflict with Russia over Crimea & Ukraine, that Turkey is cooperating with the Islamic State in many ways such as enabling the flow of 30,000 foreign volunteers and selling ISIS oil in the black market,  That Turkey is much more interested in fighting its Turkish resistance in Turkey and Syria than to fight ISIS, It is almost obvious that Russia is focusing on maintaining the Alawite minority regime in power in Syria and therefore targeted mainly “moderate’ opposition rather than ISIS and that the USA is more interested in its “Nuclear Deal” with Iran, the most committed ally to Bashar Assad’s regime. than to really  topple the Syrian Alawite structure of power.  From the very beginning the “anti-ISIS coalition was more of a virtual coalition than a real one.

In the recent days Russian jets boosted their attacks against Turkmen positions, supported by Turkey, in North-Western Syria,   showing  that Moscow is still intent on bolstering the Assad regime against some of its other opponents, whatever may be happening on the counter-ISIS front.

Turkey said, on Tuesday 11/24/2015,  its jets shot at the Russian SU-24 plane after warning that it was violating Turkish airspace. But Moscow says it never strayed from Syrian airspace.  It crashed into Syrian territory 4km from the border, he added. Both pilots of the SU-24 are presumed dead but one body is in the hands of Syrian rebels.

Indeed the deputy commander of the Syrian Turkmen brigades, a rebel group, said his fighters executed the pilots of the Russian Su-24 warplane that was shot down by Turkish F-16 jets  He said the fighters were from the Alwiya al-Ashar, or the 10th Brigade, of the Syrian Turkmen army.

A Russian marine has been killed on a helicopter mission to rescue the crew of a jet when his helicopter came under fire from rebels in Northern Syria. One of the pilots was eventually rescued by the Syrian Army with Russian backup .

Russian President Vladimir Putin has bitterly condemned the downing of a Russian jet on the Turkey-Syria border.”In any case, our pilots, planes did not threaten Turkish territory in any way” Mr Putin said. He described it as a “stab in the back” committed by “accomplices of terrorists” hinting toward the continuous support of Turkey of ISIS.  Mr Putin warned there would be “serious consequences” for Moscow’s relations with Turkey. .Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said he was cancelling his visit to Turkey, where he was due on Wednesday, over the incident.

NATO is s to hold an extraordinary meeting to discuss the incident at Turkey’s request. The NATO military alliance, to which Turkey and French belong, said it was following the situation “closely” and was in contact with the Turkish authorities. There will be an “informational meeting” of ambassadors in Brussels at 16:00 GMT.

One thing is sure – the “Grand Coalition” against ISIS is a wishful thinking rather than a political reality up to the next mega terro attack of Jihadist in Europe, Russia or even America.
