ISIS CLAIMED ADEN’S GOVERNOR KILLING
Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) claimed, on Sunday 12/06/2015 morning, responsibility for an explosion which killed the governor of Yemen’s Southern Aden province, Jaafar Mohammed Saad, ’ earlier the same day
In a statement posted on a messaging service, the group said it detonated an explosives-laden car as Jaafar Mohammed Saad’s convoy was passing in a Western district of Aden.
They said the huge explosion killed six of his bodyguards in Tawahi district of Aden city.
Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the explosion.The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to brief the media.
Yemen is griped in a civil war between the Shiaa Houthis, backed by Iran and supported by Sunni tribes loyal to the formed ousted president Abdullah Saleh and a Sunni coalition, led by Saudi Arabia that stays behind the current president Mansour Hadi, the former depute of Abdallah Salah.
Also on Sunday Morocco said they will send, as part of the Saudi-led coalition, ground troops to fight against the Al Houthi militants in Yemen. Sources said that 1,500 soldiers will be dispatched to help in the efforts to restore the legitimate Yemeni government. They will fight alongside Saudi, UAE and Saudi ground forces against Iranian backed forces.
