INDIAN ARMY IN CLASHES WITH PAKISTANI AFFILIATED TERROR

PashankotFresh gunfire and a blast have been heard, on Sunday 01/03/2016, at an Indian air force base at Pathankot near the Pakistani border, as troops reportedly battle the remnants of a Pakistani affiliated group, the Jaish-e-Mohammed,  that attacked the site. At least four attackers and seven Indian soldiers, including a senior Air Force oficcer,  have died so far.

An Indian official said two gunmen were still at large, contradicting reports that the base was secured on Saturday.

Hopes for a thaw in relations were raised after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid an unexpected visit to his Pakistani counterpart, Nawaz Sharif.

Since peace between India and Pakistan will severely undermine the privilege status of the army in the Pakistani society, there are for long time suspicions that whenever the Indian-Pakistani relations were heating up and threats were replaced by peace negotiation, a mysterious hand committed yet another spectacular terror attack in India . In previous cases the traces always led, eventually, to the Pakistani military intelligence – ISI.

Pakistan’s foreign ministry and the USA State Department have condemned the attack.
