>–

A young mother Tareena (pic-L), 25,  has run away, probably on 10/24/2014, to Syria with her baby son Zaheem after becoming obsessed with extremist propaganda she found online.

Tareena Shakil, a one-time Spice Girls fan, school prefect and Girl Guide, was so fascinated with the ITV reality show ‘Only Way is Essex’  that she travelled 150 miles to buy clothes at a shop run by one of its stars.

On 10/27/2014,  her parents said she was wearing items she bought there when she set off for Syria, lying to her family that she was taking her 14-month-old son on holiday to Spain.

It was feared Tareena Shakil. who grew up in Burton-on-Trent in Staffordshire.  plans to marry a jihadi in the Islamic State stronghold of Raqqa, Tareena’s father Mohammed Shakil, 42, said: ‘We are absolutely distraught that our beautiful, bright, intelligent daughter has chosen this path ‘.

Mr Shakil, who has served a prison sentence for dealing drugs in 2011.  said she did a psychology degree and got married, although she later divorced.  But around 06/2014 she set up a Facebook page under the name Tameena al Amirah and started posting extremist messages, including images of Islamist fighters and the IS black flag, and calling herself a ‘slave to Allah’.

Tareena’s younger brother Tazeem, 22, featured regularly in a local paper which dubbed him ‘Burton’s most prolific persistent young offender’, with 20 convictions and an Asbo by age 14.

3britsX-Factor fan Yusra Hussien (1), 15, from Bristol, flew to Turkey in 09/2014 with a 17-year-old girl she met online. They are thought to be in Syria.

Twins Salma (2) and Zahra (3) Halane, 16, who hoped to become doctors, also ran away from their home in Manchester to Syria, where social media posts show them learning to use assault rifles.

Tareena Shakil  was the first British women who returned, voluntarily, from the Islamic State  to UK in the end of 2015.. She was convicted in Birmingham court, on 01/29/2016, with membership of so-called Islamic State and with encouraging acts of terrorism through messages posted on Twitter. The jury rejected her claim that she had only wished to live under Sharia law. Tareena Shakil said in court she deeply regrets going to Syria and, in a courtroom twist, told the jury she’d even been debriefed by MI5 on her return. “I came back of my own free will. I came back because I realised I had made a mistake.”

.** Tareena Shakil was sentenced, on Monday 02/01/2016, to 6 years jail time.
