ZAHIR MEHDAOUI, LINKED TO PARIS CARNAGE, ARRESTED IN ALGERIA

The court in the Algerian city of Bejaia, 250 k”m East to the Capital Algeria, said, on Saturday 02/27/2016, 29-year-old Zahir Mehdaoui, a resident of Brussels with a dual Algerian and Belgian citizenship and a resident of Brussels, had been charged with belonging to a terrorist group active overseas. Zahir Mehdaoui was an associate of the ringleader of the Paris Carnage of 11/13/2015, Abdelhamid Abaaoud .
Zahir Mehdaoui left Algeria in 2012 to Turkey, the traditional route to join Jihadi groups in Syria . He returned to Belgium through Greece in 2014, two years later . In Belgium he married a Belgian citizen before returning to Algeria .
Zahir Mehdaoui was arrested already on Tuesday 02/23/2016 following a request of the French authorities .
