10 TUNISIAN MILITANTS JAILED
On 12/26/2007 a Tunisian court sentenced Karim Elbaloumi, an architecture student, and 9 of his supporters for up to 5 years imprisonment.They were charged for attempting, under the leadership of Karim Elbaloumi, to join Al Qaeda fighters in Iraq. About 1,000 people have been arrested in Tunisia since 2003 on terrorism charges, including recruiting fighters for the Iraqi insurgency.
