Bouhel was reportedly radicalized in a Mosque he began attending in 04/2016. Police checked his telephone records and noted that Bouhlel spoke with individuals they believed were associated with radical Islamic organizations.
In the days before the Nice Carnage, relatives said that Bouhlel asked friends to hide the money, about over $100,000 and take it to his family in Msaken, Tunisia. Where the cash came from is a mystery as Bouhlel has been unemployed for several months, leading to suspicions it could have come from an Islamic terrorist group.
