ARAB VOLUNTEERS KILLED IN PAKISTAN

 >

On Wednesday, 02/27/2008 evening, a missile was fired on a house in Pakistan ‘s North-West FATA province of South Waziristan close to the Afghan border. 12 people, suspected to be Arab militant volunteers, were killed by the explosion.

The rocket hit the house in the village near Wana, the district headquarters, at about 0200 (2100 GMT Wednesday), witnesses said.

The house that was hit belonged to Sher Mohammad Malikkheil, a Pashtu tribesman with known links to fighters on both sides of the border in the area.

A security official in Pakistan said he believes the missile was fired by USA forces, who are operating in Afghanistan, since the PAKISTANI army has not the sophisticated technology for such an accurate attack.

Neither USA nor PAKISTANI authorities officially confirm US missile attacks on PAKISTANI territory.

On 01/28/2008 Abu Laith al-Libi, a senior Al Qaeda commander, was killed in a similar missile attack in North Waziristan .
