DR. HASSAN DABBAGH
* Dr. Hassan Dabbagh from Leipzig, Germany was born in Syria and arrived to Germany in 1983, after the Hama Massacre. He became a naturalized German citizen in 1990. Dr. Hassan Dabbagh holds both Syrian and German citizenship. Dr. Hassan Dabbagh has studied medicine and works currently as the Imam of the Al-Rahman-Mosque in Leipzig, Saxony. He became a prominent Islamic Salafiya preacher in Germany who produced hundreds of video footages with his lectures about Islam.
Dr. Hassan Dabbagh received in 1997 1000DM from the alleged senior Al Qaeda member Mamoun Darkazanli. He also stood in contact with members of the Hamburg Cell as well as with the members of the Saarland group which was implicated with the Ramstein Plot. As a close associate of Abdel Kamouss, the head of the Al-Nur Mosque in Berlin since 2006, Dr. Hassan Dabbagh advised Abdel Kamouss, in 03/2003, to “forget” and by that to cover up for Ihsan Garnaoui what he did, actually, in court.
According to the Criminal Police of Saxony Dr. Hassan Dabbagh functioned as a contact for extremists and fighters ready for jihad overseas. In a wen broadcasted speech in early 2009 Dr. Hassan Dabbagh has called „Jews the enemies of Islam, who try to kill believers”.
Dr. Hassan Dabbagh is one of the organizers of several Islam camps, which are held throughout Germany. Those camps are attended by up to 500 participants according to an internal security report from 03/2009. There the predominantly young Muslims try to live a life similar to the first Muslim generations, as Dabbagh explained during one such event. The constant message conveyed in these camps is the necessity for Muslims to separate themselves as much as possible from the non-Muslim society, especially to avoid friendships with Christians and Jews.
At the end of 05/2009, the German main television channel ARD, had broadcast two reports which dealt with dangerous Islamic networks operating in Germany. The networks had ties to Al Qaeda and other terrorist movements and trained young Muslims to become Mujahideen. Both reports made the connection between the networks and Imam Hassan Dabbagh.
In 2007 Dr. Hassan Dabbagh was the leading preacher of ‘Einladung zum Paradies’ – EZP, in English – ‘Invitation to Paradise’ with offices in Moenchengladbach and Braunschweig, led by Muhamed Ciftci, Sven Lau as his depute and with the help of Pierre Vogel. The offices were raided by the German police on 12/14/2010 dawn (see – GR Raid 12.14.10).
According to media reports, in 02/2011, the Public Prosecution Office Munich has opened legal proceedings against ten individuals, which punishes formation, membership and support of a criminal organization. The accused include Mohamed Benshain, Dr. Hassan Dabbagh and Reda Seyam, who after his Jihadist globe-trotting is now producing video documentation of diverse Salafist events in Germany.
