WESAM AL-DELAEMA CENTENCED TO 25 YEARS

>

Wesam Al-Delaema, also known as Wesam Khalaf, was born in Fallujah, Iraq, in 1973. He arrived to Holland in the early 90s’ and became a Dutch citizen.

USA army in Iraq managed to obtain, in 08/2004, videotape of Wesam Al-Delaema and other insurgents, calling themselves the “Mujahideen from Fallujah”, planting remote-control explosives along a road used by U.S. troops in Fallujah, Iraq. The videotapes were probably found during the second Falluja Battle, which began in 07/2004.

Wesam Al-Delaema operated in Iraq from 10/2003 up to 05/2005 when he returned to Holland where he was arrested few days later.

Before agreeing to extradite Wesam Al-Delaema to the USA on 01/30/2007 to face trial, Prosecutors had to agree to return him to the Netherlands where a Dutch judge would consider the U.S. court’s sentence and decide the prison term.

Although Wesam Al-Delaema claimed he was forced to plant the bombs (and presumably gloat about it) or he would be beheaded. The claim rings slightly false in light of a Dutch television interview he gave in 2003 in which he swaggered, “I don’t care if I myself die or not. I want to offer myself up for my land, for my people.” His family claims that interview was “a joke.”

In early 02/26/2009 Wesam Al-Delaema pleaded guilty, in a plea bargain, to conspiring to kill USA soldiers in Iraq. He agreed to a 25-year prison sentence. According to the plea Bargain Wesam Al-Delaema supposes to serve his jail term in Holland.

* We can assume that if it was not about a young Muslim from Europe, who joined the war against the Americans in Iraq, but about another young Muslims, 15 years earlier, who joined the war against the Russians in Afghanistan – any of this could not have happened.
